EDUC 6990 Week 6: Jobs/Roles in the ECE Community: Internationally

Blog Assignment: Jobs/Roles in the ECE Community: Internationally

UNICEF

(United Nations Children's Fund) works for every child's survival, protection, and development, especially those in the most challenging and outcast situations. It has a strong presence in 190 countries, with 156 Country Offices and 34 National Committees.

In line with the Convention on the Right of the Child, ratified by the United Nations in 1989, UNICEF strives to ensure that the international community fulfills the promises made to children. It conducts long-term, international development programs aimed at seven main priorities: child health, education, child protection, mother-to-child diseases, access to clean water, nutrition, and enabling children to participate in decisions that affect their lives. It does humanitarian work, providing support and protection to children in crisis and emergency. UNICEF's work is supported by the voluntary contributions of individuals and institutions. The donations they collect ensure that a child grows up healthily, receives regular education, and stands on his own feet in life.

For this reason, its regular donors are almost like parents to children in need. In addition, regular donations give UNICEF the flexibility to access ever-changing areas of need more quickly. I couldn't find a job opportunity other than finding donors and working for various aids.

The second international organization I chose is Save the Children. This organization not only helps students and families overcome struggles related to poverty, but also helps in situations such as all kinds of natural disasters and there is a lot of help available in case of emergency. As part of my Capstone project, I chose to Feed the Children because it is in low-income families getting nutrition assistance and school meal programs. Feed the Children is an organization with a mission to provide hope and resources for children who lack the foundations of life. The primary purpose of this organization is to ensure that children have the basic survival needs and ensure that they have access to adequate food resources.
