Exploring Roles in the ECE Community: Local and State Levels
These courses and research work in early childhood education make me excited to expand and grow in my career and discover new things. After my master's education, I want my place in my working life to be in the administrative field. In this sense, this information is more valuable to me. Frankly, I don't belong to any particular app community in my state. Given the nature of the Early Childhood Education profession and responsibility, professionally belonging to a community of practice is an important, necessary skill. Exploring Roles in the ECE Community, seeing advocacy at Local and State Levels, I plan to join several interest groups to learn and follow issues and current trends and, most importantly, understand early childhood better.
Here are some
local and state organizations I've come across and considered joining in my
work to support early childhood care and education:
The North Carolina Education of Young Children
Association (NCAEYC) is the state affiliate of the National Association for the
Education of Young Children (NAEYC). It is a membership association for anyone
interested in developing and educating children from birth to eight years.
NCAEYC has more than 3,000 members statewide, and NAEYC has approximately
100,000 members nationwide. Members include teachers, childcare providers,
administrators, principals, researchers, university faculty, education
coordinators, quality improvement specialists, and other early childhood
professionals.
It is a teaching approach based on research into how young children develop and learn and about effective early education. It is a body and framework of programs designed to support optimal learning and development of young children. Makes statements and supports to assist children's and adults' quality or state of being healthy in body and mind.
Assists early childhood practicians
in ways to meet defined standards, requirements, educational levels, such as
professionalism, skills, knowledge, qualifications, attitudes, perspectives,
and receiving proportionate compensation and benefits.
NC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)
mission is to provide essential human services to improve all North Carolina
residents' health, safety, and well-being, in partnership with its partners.
The NC Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) is a division
of NC - DHHS.
The Department of Child Development and Early Education
(DCDEE) mission is to ensure the health and safety of children in childcare
programs, promote quality childcare by applying evidence-based standards, and
increase families' access to quality childcare. To ensure the health and safety
of children in DCDEE childcare programs for children in North Carolina:
Licensing, monitoring, and providing technical assistance to all individuals
working in licensed or regulated childcare programs and other social and human
service programs Performs comprehensive Criminal Background Checks. Supports
the NC Child Care Commission, which has the responsibility to create, amend, or
repeal rules to enforce the Child Care Act. Evaluate teacher and administrator
training to determine competency for different positions in childcare programs.
It licenses early childhood educators in non-public programs. Funds the
statewide Child Care Resource and Referral system that provides early childhood
professionals with evidence-based technical assistance, professional
development, coaching, and compensation supports. In this sense, it is a field
of practice that I will follow for my professional development and cope with
some difficulties.
North Carolina Early Foundation has a strong
foundation for the lifelong health of North Carolina children, education, and
well-being supported by an inclusive and equitable birth-to-eight. They are
ranking North Carolina's people, ideas, and achievements to ensure equal access
to opportunity and success for every child by the end of third grade. Their
mission is to provide equal access to opportunity and success for every child
by the end of third grade. Communities and families whose purpose is to
highlight the importance of early childhood investments and focus on equality
guide decision-making. This website identified some areas to invest in early
learning resources, raise funds, and evaluate job opportunities. They are
stated that in North Carolina, early childhood investments are often funded
with federal, state, and lottery dollars.
