Getting to Know International Organizations: Part 1

I would definitely choose to look to the UNICEF website to combat international poverty. (https://www.unicef.org/social-policy). The reports on this website are an excellent resource for reaching news about the fight against poverty that is happening in the world. UNICEF helps support children through donations and tries to offer 7 million more lives in humanitarian settings. Research studies are ongoing, and these routine poverty measurements and reports raise awareness for the whole world.

The things that attract my attention from this website are as follows:

  • Poor children around the world die twice as much as their peers who have better conditions before their fifth birthday.
  • Nearly two-thirds of children worldwide cannot be protected from the lifelong consequences of poverty.
  • Around one in three children, roughly 663 million, live in poverty in the world.
    (UNICEF Annual Report, 2019)

Emergency children are the most vulnerable group against diseases, malnutrition, and violence: Children
Education
61 million children of primary school age cannot go to school.
Nutritional Requirement
Every 15 seconds a child dies because it cannot be fed.
Health
A healthy child means a healthy adult of the future.
Clean water
More than 800 children die every day due to water-related diseases.
